Yup, the domain costs money (the @xxx.xxx part). It is possible to host it on your personal computer, but can be a hassle with some ISPs (or even with your own router if you are a novice). There would also be better speed and guaranteed uptime if you host it somwhere else (lots of places that will sell you a domain can also charge more to host it if you want).
