Instead of posting alerts to all of your friends when you upload an image, the alerts should wait to be "issued" until after a mod approves it.
That way, you benefit in a few ways:
Images that don't get approved won't be seen by those who shouldn't see it, and secondly, once a member sees the alert, they can actually comment on the picture without waiting.

I dont think new images should have alerts. I have like 12 alerts at once when someone does a mass upload Im like fuck off..
