So often enough a documentry will have heavily edited interviews and statements by people designed to make a particular viewpoint look bad.
What I don't get is how the journalists can do that without feeling physically sick with themselves? Also, if you are a journalist, and some interviewee on your program about how terrible the interviewees belief system is or whatever gives a response that is just too coherant or convincing to be left in... well, either you are convinced by it or you're not. If you are, you'd leave it in surely? After all you're convinced.
If you're not, well leave it in and explain to the audience why its wrong, otherwise a) you won't convince anyone of your slant that already knows that argument and b) you make your journalism appear biased, you alienate those you've asked to appear on the show and generally make a jerk of yourself.
I just, I can't fathom what goes through their heads when they do that.
