The format of the site is really good. And now I don't think anyone could beat it even with a better layout or concept, just because of numbers. There are so many people on LW that like you said, the replies are super quick and there are a lot of them. Just the whole LW community is so big now that any other site really couldn't hope to compete at this point because everyone is already here.
