The laws man has today are more forgiving than the ones they had in the time of Jesus.
People are rewarded for doing good. I am anyway.

Nope. And that's what should happen.
I know plenty of people who are religious who do amazing things and they are not rewarded by anyone but man.

Just because it was written thousand of years ago does not mean it's true. Many things were written before christianity so does that make it true? And I agree with The Raven. It causes people to have a purpose...it causes those who have the potential to kill to not if they believe they are doomed for eternity and no don't point out that people still kill and mostly that's a choice they made and most don't believe in religion when they murder and then you've got the few who were doing it for God...

Never said it was a mistake. People fear death, people seek comfort, and religion is introduced. Religion fueled wars, created laws, and organized society. It is a tool of power.

Actually, I feel more secure as an Atheist than I ever did when I was young and people were trying to tell me there was a Holy Ghost/Christ/Lord/Jesus/God/Saviour/900 other names watching over me.

It's pretty pathetic that you find this so amazingly hard to accept. You fail to even remotely understand it at all. You're supposed to be tolerant. Not annoying.

I know plenty of people who are religious who do amazing things and they are not rewarded by anyone but man.
