Quote: from HelHound at 1:44 pm on Sep. 5, 2008 I agree with you, iguana. If we were born as monkeys or whatever, why aren't the babies the human race creates born monkeys. And why aren't the monkeys today, evolving? Ok first off people aren't born as monkeys. 2nd the theory of evolution doesn'y involve u being born as monkey and evolving from there And thrid Monkeys aren't evolving now because it takes millions of years!!!

When you die, if God doesn't exist, you're dead. If He does exist, judgment occurs. What could matter more than that?
What judgment? You were judged before you were born, God himself knew whether you were going to heaven or hell. I wonder how does he even get to choose what to do, he knows his own future.
You don't understand the concept of 'free will' apparently. And no, I'm not going to attempt to explain it. It seems to be something that one either does or does not get.
you won't explain it because you can't explain it without using crappy logic
No, it's because I've seen those with good explanations try and the idiots still don't get it. It has nothing to do with 'crappy logic', it has to do with the lack of intelligence on the part of closed minded individuals.

So you believe in an invisible floating space man because it gives you comfort that when you die you didn't live for nothing? Why is it you can't accept your life doesn't mean anything? And if your god is omnisint, why can't he tell before your born if you will be good or bad? Free will? O well that sounds like another contradiction in your silly little fairy tale now, eh?

because i've been able to feel that all the things i'm trying to prove are true. i don't accept it b/c i don't feel that my life means nothing. why are you trying so hard to make life seem meaningless?

Those 'feelings' are a result of chemical impalances in your brain, or religous brainwashing (causing chemical imbalances in your brain). Anyway, I do not think I am trying too hard to make life seem meaningless, I wrong one sentence about it. I was referring to the fact that this life of yours and mine will have no impact on the universe. it won't change an orbit, it wont keep 2 planets from colliding, etc. compared to the universe, we are less than grains of sand. Also, unless you are a future assasin or late blooming super genious, i doubt you or I will have any lasting effect on this planet. Sure, we can live our lives happily, as everyone should. and people will mour your death, you did impact some people. but the fact is, you are buried 6 feet underground and when you die the earthworms will eat you and turn you into soil. natural ways of life->death->dirt.

OP, don't put religion (Christianity) in opposition to science. It's not an either/or proposition. Personally, I love that science is finding out how the wondrous works of God came about.
i was waiting for some1 to make this comment. Science, or Philosophy is man's love of knowledge. Its obvious man wants to know how all things work, including god's work, in a way they will understand. even i can't deny that, but you just can't explain many things through science, no matter how hard you try. That's why evolution is a theory, and not a fact. b/c they're no even sure, its just accepted by many b/c it seems like the most reasonable thing.
Same as god is accepted by many, because a book says he is real. Take the Karma Sutra, for example, very old manuscript, all true, we can prove it. As all the positions in it are possible, and proved to be real. The bible on the other hand, is full of stories about things such as the creation of humans, no-one can document that, because there was only Adam and Eve apparently, so how could anyone write about it MANY years later?
