I personally think that Miley Cyrus had something to do about the rumor of her own death seeing how it was started extremely close to tonight (VMAs). This leaves not enough time to be cleared up opposed to more than enough time to be spread. An announcement will be made (most likely around the time of 'New Best Artist') along with an appearance. It would make sense to maintain her career with all that has been going on with her throughout her career.

Motive: Her fans will feel relieved which takes the focus off of her mistakes.
