So... there's this guy. I really like. We've become really close since school started a month ago. We talk all the time and everything that's been going on in his life he comes to me and talks to me. But I realized I'm falling for him. I had a crush on him when we first met, but I just let it go. So it grew and grew. I finally told him and he said he was in a gang and didn't wanna being me into that kinda situation and also because I'm 15 and he's 18 and he said it's illegal for him to be with me... I don't know if it's illegal for him to be with me or not, but I know I really really like him. I told him my ex was 18 and I was in love with him and everyone knew and we got in no trouble, but the guy now says that he just can't risk it. We're still close friends and there are moments when we just look at each other and stare each other in the eyes, so I know there's some kind of connection. WHAT SHOULD I DO?!

It's not illegal for him to be with you.. It's illegal for him to have sex with you but really, if it happens, the likelyhood of anyone finding out is VERY low, and even if someone finds out no one ever really presses charges.

But you can't make him date you.. It's a decision he has to make himself.

You can only get in trouble if you have sex otherwise its fine. If the guy keeps giving you excuses though that probably means he doesn't want to be with you right now. I'd settle for being his friend for now... later is a different story.

Would your family be okay with the age gap?

If he's in a gang and says he doesn't want to be with you for your protection, then it's best this way (unless he is just making an excuse). Gang stuff is pretty scary.
