so if you are in the miltary (ie Marines) and you give your dogtags to a girl.....is that like a really big thing to do????
because ive heard its like really serious almost like an engagement or promise ring.....
idk what do you think???

Yes its a huge thing to do, but its not really allowed....however its pretty easy to just say you lost it and get new ones. Just get bitched at for a few min for it, mayhaps a few push-ups/miles/pull ups or POG work

Ya it is, my husband is a marine. He gave me his dogtags and said he lost them, so he could get new ones later on.
If he's being deployed, he's telling you to keep them till he comes back to you to get them.
If not being deployed, then it's still a nice thing to do, it's not necessarily engagement....but sorta like a promise kinda thing......
But don't get to excited. I've seen some guys do it as a ploy to get you....imnot saying this guys like that, but marines tend to be special cases...lol i should know....lol

actually, i have a friend in the army, and if he removed his dogtags on duty, or came to work without them, he would be removed and sent home. giving someone your dogtags is completely illegal, unless you are retired from the army, or dead.
