First off.. I think this is the right place considering what this all revolves around.. but if it's not feel free to move it to the correct location.

Okay.. I'm posting this as anonymous because people that I know in real life use this site.

Someone who I thought was one of my best friends has been starting rumors about me that caused my girlfriend to break up with me.  I was talking to one of my ex's (who is still a very good friend) that is a very good friend of the girl that I love. Anyway.. I told my ex what really happened and she is going to talk to the girl I love.

When she broke up with me earlier today because of the rumors my "friend" said she told me that she still loves me. When I was talking to my old girlfriend about what happened today she said that they were going out. But I know the girl I love and I know that she will be disgusted when she finds out what happened.

So does LW give me permission to beat the living shit out of the person that I use to call a friend before he started?

I have been in similar situations in the past but I prefer to get in their face and start asking questions, one after another one.  If they get violent then I feel I have to protect myself. I prefer to have the confrontation privately but sometimes it just doesn't happen.
