I'm assuming the OP is a young adult.

And I'm also going to assume that the OP's father has been drinking since HIS teen years. It's highly unlikely that he started drinking when he "became an adult."

So...his dad sounds like a jerk. If parents don't want their children to drink, smoke, or do drugs, then they shouldn't fucking do it in front of their children. It doesn't matter that he's an "adult." It matters that he's being a shitty role model.
