I need help being more open around people. My parents are telling me to start by telling people good morning and stuff when I come to class. Is there anything else I should know? I seem to have a serious problem talking and relating to people. Any advice you have would be appreciated. Because I feel kind of lost.

Do you have friends? What about, when you're with a friend at lunch or something, and you two go up to a group of people, introduce yourself by saying "hey! i'm soandso" in a friendly tone. Just be friendly and open yourself to others. Try to be somewhat outgoing in class and maybe try joining clubs and stuff. Get yourself some confidence. :)

I had the same problem. Just start saying HI to people and waving. Start to ask how they are doing. Myabe it will strike up a conversation.
