The topic previous to this got me thinking. So, I was wondering what you guys thought. And of course, a combination of talent and passion is ideal, but lets think either one or the other. Is it more important to be incredibly talented? Or is it more important to try your hardest, and devote your life to it, although you may not be absolutely fantastic at whatever it is you do? You might even be bad at it. Who do you think tends to excel more?
------- Sorry for my English. I know it can be bad sometimes =)

its better to be passionate about it because then you know you love what your doing and you can work harder and longer at it because you maybe be really talented at something but hate doing it...

Passion is definitely more important.... because talent is only worth something if you actually use it and have the passion for it.

If you've got a natural knack for something, then I would think it would be easier to excel at it.

More passion than talent, sure, you have the talent for something but you got to have passion to give it your all.

While passion is all great and stuff, it's generally talent that goes the farthest. Especially in today's society. If someone find's they have a knack for something, they generally tend to stick with it, even if it's not exactly what they want, it's just easiest. Those with passion though definitely work harder, yes, but anymore that doesn't get you as far as you like.

It really depends... It's hard to say. In school, I was the type that would get the good marks without putting in much effort. But I had a friend that wouldn't get great marks but tried so hard. I respect her more for that, and work ethic and your ability to try is an important aspect in life. I would prefer a worker who did things 100% instead of a decent job done half-assed. But that's where the problem lies. If a doctor is passionate about helping someone, but doesn't have the skill necessary... then he can't exactly do his job even if he's passionate about it. And simply put, in certain fields, passion alone won't get you a job. So while passion is incredibly important, talent will often shine out the most. So while passion can be a great hobby for things, talent is one that could potentially create a career. But long term, without the passion, you'll probably notice that your talent is also waning, just because you don't bother trying anymore... if that makes sense.
