About five months ago I quit my job as an assistant manager because of school. I gave them 1 weeks notice then I just left. I was making 9 an hour and getting 40 hrs a week. Months later after leaving I finally find another job. I'm now making 7.40 and hour and taking orders from superiors all around me. The pay is shitty and I don't think it's worth my time. I wish I could go back to doing what I was doing before.

I was thinking of contacting my previous employer and letting them know that I wanted back in. But I know it won't be that simple if possible. I know I'd probably have to wait for an opening at the location I was in before. And it still wouldn't be that simple.

What do you guys think? It is worth trying to get the job I just up and left?

Like the above member said, it cannot hurt to ask, but I would seriously not give your hopes up if you did not turn in a full two-weeks notice.  I do not know any employer that would re-hire someone who did not do this.  Especially for a position that requires as much responsibility as an asst. manager.
