So, Welcome to LiveWire! You're most likely reading this because you're a brand new member, and as you can probably tell, LiveWire is a big website!

This topic is here to help you along your way! Follow the links below for more information.

  • How do I create a new topic or poll?
  • How do I post replies?
  • I've seen people include photos or videos, can I do that too?
  • Where do I upload my photos, and how?
  • Why do some people have different coloured names?
  • What's a support leader?

If you have any other questions, feel free to message a moderator, or read the list of frequently asked questions!

The first thing you'll be wanting to learn is how to make new topics. If you click on the "Teen" link on the top-left hand side of your screen (near to where it says "College" and Tech"), you'll get to the main page of forums.

The forums have been divided up for a reason - it makes it much easier to figure out where to post! Before making a topic, take a look through the list of forums, and decide which one would be the best home for your topic.

Once you get into the forum you want, you'll see some links at the top. Now, you can either make a normal topic, or a poll. Please only use the polls for the right reasons, though! Click "Create", and make your topic your own :)

Now, you might want to put a picture or a video into your topic, which is totally fine! Just make sure they follow these guidelines:

  • Maximum file size of 2.50 megabytes
  • Format of GIF, PNG or JPG
  • Images which are extremely offensive, sexually explicit, vulgar (e.g. shock images), or depict self-harm are not permitted.
  • No nudity. Images containing bare bottoms, breasts, or genitalia will not be accepted.
  • Images of people only in their underwear are not permitted unless they are of professional quality and are for artistic purposes (non-members only). This also pertains to any form of implied nudity (nudity with everything listed above covered adequately).
  • If you are under eighteen (18) do not upload photos of yourself without the permission of a parent or guardian.
  • You will only use content that you own or have the right to use.
  • You do not have the right to upload official LiveWire images that could serve to confuse or mislead other members.
  • You certify that the persons in this photo have given you permission to submit it. If any of the individuals in the photo are under 18 years old, you certify that their parent or legal guardian has given you permission.

    -----

If they follow the guidelines and have been uploaded to your image basket, you can of course put them in your topics too. Go to create your topic, then click on the "Image Basket" link, and add away!

You can also use the LiveTags to add images to your posts which you haven't uploaded to your Image Basket.

    Before uploading your photos:

Please bear in mind that there are rules on what your images can depict, you cannot post an image if it deems to be pornographic, vulgar, or offensive to any of our other members at any time.
A moderator will make the decision on whether or not your image passes LiveWire's guidelines.

Uploading photos to your Image Basket couldn't be easier! Look at your SideBar, and you'll see a link for it - click there.

On the right, you'll see a green button saying "add image" - click there, and you can upload photos from your computer to LiveWire. You can edit the caption of the photo, and choose an "Album" to put it in too. You can even make certain albums private if you don't want everyone to see what you've uploaded, but remember, these images MUST be against the guidelines as they can be deleted by moderators.

As you may have noticed, not everyone's name is green, and there are reasons for this, so keep reading here if you're confused!

Green names are for regular members, most likely just like you. However, LiveWire's rules are here for a reason, and if you see someone with a brown name, it means they've been given a formal warning for their behaviour.

You may also see black names, and this colour is reserved for banned members. If, after formal warnings, a member keeps disobeying the guidelines, they will be denied service!

The blue names are for moderators. These are a group of people who have been given the task of keeping LiveWire going. They delete things which go against the guidelines, hand out formal warnings, and make sure that the photos you upload are within the rules! Some have a little "New" symbol besides their name, which simply means that they have had less than 60 days active as a moderator.

You may have seen members with the words "Support Leader" under their names. LiveWire is mainly a support site, and Support Leaders are people who have shown that they are extremely supportive. They can reply to the Emergency Help system (eHelp) too. For more information, and for how to apply, click here!

Tech. Support Leaders are the ones to go to if you have some technical problems, be it with a computer, your mp3 player or television. They have proved that they have good knowledge of all things technical! Click here for more information, including how to apply for the position!
