Is it a wise idea to have no medication while being bipolar?

I fucking hate the drugs that my doctor is shoving at me, yet he continues to insist that it is necessary, for my survival, to take the medication for the rest of my life.

UGH. I would rather be an emotional wreck that have the two extremes squished into one compact heap of garbage.

I already stopped the meds... probably without the best of sense. Anyways, anyone med-free and bipolar?

I know a few people who don't take meds for it.  They'd argue, but I don't think that what they're doing is too good for them.

lol... it depends, it may be better to talk to your doctor about choosing a different medication if you are having problems with the one you are on.

Be honest with yourself.  Is your case bad enough to need medication?  If not, then stay off the meds.  But if you need extra help, you might need the meds.
