how the hell do you win an auction? last night i got screwed because i bid on these shoes like 25 times and it kept saying you have been outbid and i obviously lost the auction so how do you win? i need to know because the next auction ends in an hour

someone was probably putting a max bid on it, and it just keeps bidding automatically until you reach the max bid. You can do that too, there's an option for it when you bid.

The secret to winning an auction is to wait until the very last minute. Then bid the highest you are willing to pay. Your maximum bid has to be higher than anyone else's. Of course, there is no way to know what someone's maximum bid is until they are outbid, that's why you bid the highest you are willing to pay.

You put in the MOST you are willing to spend, and you put it in just once.

You also try to put that amount in 5-10min before the auction ends.
