I've read far, far more memes and overly in-depth essays in the past three weeks on FA regarding the subject than I ever wanted to. Honestly, I'm sorta porned out because of it. =P I'll admit, the fandom is obsessed with porn to a large degree. But so is life. To say the fandom exists is merely for porn is like saying Microsoft exists solely to manufacturer BSODs (I'm looking at you, Windows ME!). The entire WORLD is porn- and sex-centric. I mean, you got to this planet somehow, right? Think about it: short of you being born into a Mormon family the statistical chances of your existence coming into effect is sooooo impossibly small to the most minute of chances. It's hard to comprehend. In fact, your single greatest competition prior to conception was a Kleenex and a horny male's five-a-day habit. Every fandom, group or mass gathering of people is into sex. Doubly so if it involves choir boys. It's just a part of life; a guilty pleasure for some, an addiction to others. But a pleasurable necessity. For all of you whiners (yes, whiners! I said it) who tend to cry that the fandom is too sexually oriented need to check the facts. Hell, look at the numbers from my previous journal. Clean art and imagery outnumber mature stuff on this site five to one*, although I may have to go out on a limb and say that the sheer number of fetishes in the fandom is staggering on its own right. segremores can attest to that. In the end, though: the fandom is what you make of it. And a lot of the fandom makes porn. The end**. Use a condom. * Estimated numbers. Too lazy to get real facts. ** Blah blah blah.
