If it runs in your family, then it can't hurt to get it checked. It comes down to this... if you don't know what you're dealing with, how are you ever going to change it? So... you have all these problems. Is it serious? Are you just paranoid because it runs in the family? At the end of the day, I won't be able to tell you that. But what I can say is this... if you don't go ahead and find out, then you'll never know. And if it turns out you do have something that could have been treated, but you've already acted on something that's irreversible, then it's already too late. So I see it this way... it can never hurt to check. You can either come out with the peace of mind that there's nothing wrong (and maybe you're just stressed or paranoid), or you can come out knowing that there IS a problem, so that now you have a better chance of dealing with it.
I do really want to get help because I know theres something wrong with me. I'm just afraid of what everyone is going to think. Its hard for me to explain whats going on in my head I just don't want to come out sounding like a fucking nut case.
Just keep in mind... it's very easy to convince yourself that you have something. Once you know the symptoms, you'll start seeing them. But again, it does run in you family. Just talk to your parents and say it this way, "You know, schizophrenia runs in the family, and I'd like to go to the doctor just to make sure". Or something like that. If it's easier for you, write them a note or something. Something needs to be done, right? So nervous or not, you can't just let it fall to nothing. Sooner than later is usually better, right? And if you're going to bring it up, why delay? I know it's easier said than done, but once you get it off your chest, it may at least take some stress off of you.
