I am so excited, because soon I am coming to America!
I am visiting California! I'll only be there for two weeks, then I am flying to New York, and staying there for two weeks. Then, I'll return home to Poland.

Any suggestions of places I should visit?

I wish we had Polish people in Texas. We hardly ever get any foreigners to visit.

Don't do touristy stuff cause then you won't really experience anything. Hang with the local kids go to the spots they hang out atg and do what they do.

Where in Cali are you going?

if she's going to los angeles her view on america will be that it's a suburban shithole full of mexicans.  but when she goes to new york she'll see what a real city looks like... the most diverse city in the world, the most important city in the world, the greatest sports city in the world, the greatest non-tacky skyline in the world, the largest and tallest skyline in the world, the realest people in the world, etc.  new york is america.  we rule america, we rule the world.  why esle do you think the united nations headquarters is here?  and can you say wall street?  wall street owns 95% of the real estate in los angeles.

NOW ON WHERE TO GO IN NEW YORK CITY...
anyway, in new york visit "top of the rock" at rockefeller center instead of the empire state building... much better views at top of the rock... but MAKE SURE YOU GO UP AT NIGHT, it's beautiful.

of course visit times square but don't spend hours on end there cus it's too tacky. it's a tourist trap.

visit the statue of liberty... depending on when you come, if you want to go all the way to the top you may have to stand in line for a bit... but nothing too long that it'll eat your day away.

ellis island is another place.

window shop on 5th avenue and madison avenue, the most expensive stores in the world. park avenue is the center of global business... it's the most expensive, the richest, and has the most expensive real estate properties in the world.

walk around central park. i don't recommend walking deep into the park at night. there are a shitload of homeless creeps who live in there.

grand central terminal is right on park avenue so you can go in there and marvel at the beauty.

but i suggest you try and stay away from all the torist traps. that's not the real new york. venture off into chinatown (largest chinese population outside of china), little italy, greenwich village, astoria (queens), little odessa and brighton beach (brooklyn russian community), harlem (during the day of course), and spanish harlem (also during the day).

there's so much more but i'm getting tired here so... when you get to new york, ask a cabbie or the people at the front desk in the hotel what are some cool nyc neighborhoods.

for some new york style pizza i highly recommend lombardi's in little italy on spring street at the corner of spring and mott. it's the first pizza joint in america.

California...
I would agree with NYC on this, LA is a suburban shithole, I should know since some of my dad is from there  (no wonder he left).
San Diego is a must, and so is San Francisco. If you're a nature person I suggest stay in Nor Cal, they've got Redowods, Yosemite, Kings Canyon, lots of cool nature sites.
Back to San Diego, being born there and still having a home there, it fucking rocks. La Jolla is a must, lots of shopping and beautiful beaches. Old Towne Sand Diego is a must as well. Don't forget ea World if you like theme parks. Don't drive too far south or you'll end up in Mexico (not really the nicest of places).
New York is fun too, but I'm gonna leave the New York advice to people like him.
Have fun.
