"Sausage dogs" are a designer dog that were cross bred by people to make a strange dog.  Traits may have been changed over time, but the species has not changed.  That would be like saying a change in height and eye color through generations of people is evolution.

As I said before, speciation =/= evolution.

From wiki: In biology, evolution is the process of change in the inherited traits of a population of organisms from one generation to the next.

So, yes, a change in height and eye colour in subsequent generations is evolution.

I deny that something came from nothing.

So you deny the big bang theory?

The Big Bang Theory does not deal with the creation of the Universe. It only states that all matter and energy was once focused at one point, and subsequently exploded outward.

Well, at my school, both were taught. Neither was taught as being proven fact, and that's the way it should be. Neither should be taught as being the whole truth - they both need to be taught for what they are - theories.

Please read it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evolution_as_theory_and_fact

I'm not going into the technical meanings of a theory here. (I believe in evolution, btw)

I'm saying that schools which refuse to teach either creationism or evolution are in the wrong.

Yes, I deny the big band theory.  I don't know how the earth was created, nor do I really care.  No "theory" has enough proof for me to be able to believe it.

Hm, interesting. I personally don't see how someone could believe that a "God" created the world in 7 days, and that at the end of that period, the world was created. It makes no sense at all - especially when we have PROOF that the earth has been around for millions of years - as opposed to what the bible says.

Whether or not something is a scientific theory has nothing to do with how much evidence there is to support it.

So, you are completely incorrect in saying they are both theories and thus equal. Creationism is not a scientific theory.

I never said it was a scientific theory. They are both THEORIES. I know that creation isn't scientific, but nevertheless it is a theory. They both need to be taught in schools - creationism in a religious class and evolution in a physics one.

I don't necessarily believe the world has been around for millions of years.  Carbon dating has been proven to not always be accurate, and to me none of the proof is 100% believeable.  The big band theory makes no sense to me.  How can nothing explode and create everything?

I also will humor the people who go by the bible and give them that maybe the dating in the bible is on a different scale than we are today.  Maybe those thousands of years when correctly translated could be millions?

The word "theory" has a completey different meaning in a scientific context.

It does not mean "an idea we haven't tested or proven yet". That would be a hypothesis.

Well, if you want to be pedantic - evolution as an hypothosis and creationism as a theory should both be taught in schools - the former in science lessons, the latter in religion.

The big band theory makes no sense to me. How can nothing explode and create everything?

The Big Bang Theory does not state that nothing exploded, and it does not deal with the creation of the Universe.

It simply states that all energy and matter were focused at one point and then expanded out words. Hence big bang.

It does not deal with the creation of the Universe.

And could you please respond to my previous post regarding speciation?

EVOLUTION ISN'T A HYPOTHESIS.

We have observed evolution directly. It is a fact that evolution happens.

The theory of evolution is the explanation of that fact.

Please just read the link. It will take 5 minutes.

That's not the point of the big bang theory - it means, as SpM said, that all matter/energy was once focused in one place, and then, it expanded outward as the result of an explosion/reaction.

I've read the link, thanks. I'm not a very scientific person so I'm not that interested in the various meanings of the word "theory" in whatever number of contexts.

My belief is both should be taught in schools. Both evolution and creationism.

I was taught, in public school that the big bang theory was the beginning of the universe. Perhaps we are being taught differently here than you are.
