Public schools don't have religion lessons.

Ah, now, in England, religious education is compulsory - everyone is taught the creation theory, as well as the equivalent stories from the other main religions.

On the same token, public schools shouldn't be able to get away with just not teaching creation.

I agree with you completely. Both should be taught in both public and church-funded or religious schools.

Here, there aren't religious education classes. People are too afraid of being accused of "pushing religion". They have to keep religion out of the schools.  If a teacher hints at creation and parents find out, they can get in a world of trouble.  So much for freedom of religion?

Honestly. Evolution isn't a theory
A Scientific theory is a testable "model" used for prediction purposes. Something that can be tested and proven. BUT, it in no means implies or give facts.

The only problem is a lot of parents send their kids to Church run schools specifically because they don't want their kids learning about evolution.

Evolution is no more proven that creation.

I went to a religious school in middle school and we were taught both.  They taught us creation as truth, but we also were taught evolution for the sake of finding similarities, and the possibility that both exist.

In what way is evolution - or rather modern evolutionary synthesis - untestable or unable to make predictions?

Evolution is no more proven that creation.

Do you deny the existence of distinct dog breeds all descended from a single ancestor?

If you don't, you accept that evolution is a fact.

That is not evolution.  That is cross breeding or survival of the fittest. No one has proof that there was only one original breed of dog.  A dog will never become a cat.  A cat will never become a fish.  That is changing within a species, not species crossing the borders into another species.

I deny that humans came from monkeys. I deny that dogs came from plants. I deny that something came from nothing.

No, it is the survival of the chosen. Sausage dogs are not fit.

Point is, the inherited traits of these breeds have changed over time through selective breeding, yes?

That is not evolution, that is speciation. Common misconception. Evolution does not require one species to become another. Speciation is a result of evolution, but not a requirement or an intrinsic part of it.

As for something coming from nothing, what are we talking about here? The "creation" of the Universe?

"Sausage dogs" are a designer dog that were cross bred by people to make a strange dog. Traits may have been changed over time, but the species has not changed. That would be like saying a change in height and eye color through generations of people is evolution.

You don't think evolution should be taught, and creationism studied?

Well, at my school, both were taught. Neither was taught as being proven fact, and that's the way it should be. Neither should be taught as being the whole truth - they both need to be taught for what they are - theories.
