Yes. I don't have to be in a language for the rest of high school, but I'm taking two anyways.

It's not compulsory for me but I'm taking Japanese next year (year 10), since I've been learning since year 7. Although there's so many other things I want to do, it sucks that we only get to pick 2 (and a 3rd one, incase we don't get the options we wanted).

It's always been compulsory for me to take a foreign language. In grades 1-7 I had to take Finnish, I've had English ever since I started 3rd grade and I've had Russian since 6th grade. In 10th grade French was added and so I'm taking 3 foreign languages right now and I'm in 12th grade.

Yeah, I did German to A-level. I wanted to take Irish and French to GCSE aswell, but the way our school worked meant that it wasn't possible for me to do more than one language and to study music at the same time.

I loooooooooved languages though. Will definitely be taking up Irish, and possibly Spanish, at some point whenever I go back home.

I passed out of the requirement level for college with a test, but I'm still taking Spanish and plan on taking it continuously and possibly minoring in it.

No, because I know English.

Why would I bother with anything else?

Yes. And I'm majoring in Japanese, picking up a minor in French and planning on taking all four Polish language classes here at my university.

Once I'm done with my three years of Spanish so I can be in scholars and NHS, I'll be done taking foreign language at school. I can't learn anything in those classes.
