The other day I heard my roommate talking to a friend of her's in the room that she might be leaving.  And then today I read on one of her facebook wall-to-wall's with some guy I met that she is thinking of dropping and going to cosmetology school.

That would mean room to myself then!...Not that I'm like super-happy about this, but I can't say I'm too down either.  We aren't really friends, more like acquaintances still.

My question...if she leaves, will they move someone else in there, or would I get to keep it for myself?

At my school, they would end up moving some else in unless I specifically requested the room to be a single, but there is a period of a couple weeks where the room remains open and I can't decide, but after that period I could if no one is assigned to the room.

The procedure might be different for your school, so check with the housing office and ask them what happens.
