i was prescribed zoloft like a week ago but i'm very uncomfortable with the idea of taking it it just seems dodgy, toying with my brain's chemistry, and they don't seem to know much about it. it just seems like the long term plan is to see if this works, and if it doesnt try something else, and so on, and it seems like guesswork. and that just seems kind of wrong. what do you think

some depression can be caused by chemical imbalances in the brain so it's not that dodgy to think that an antidepressant can help you out in that way
but you make your own choice. i was on prozac for about a year and at the very least i'd say it helped me

It depends on the person. Zoloft was horrible for me it made matters worse. But for others it really did help them.
