So I put in a recovery disc, and it just keeps rebooting everything...help?

I get this screen that says "Pri. Master disk HDD S.M.A.R.T" among other things, then the windows xp loading screen, then a blue screen, and then it reboots...it just keeps doing that

I think it's F8 too. But yeah, you have to press one of the F keys at a certain point so it doesn't do that.

SMART is the HDD automatic diag system. If its failing, you might have a bad HDD. Your going to need to use some sort of diag tool to determine the status of your HDD. I recommend DFT. Google it, burn it to a disk and run it.

Once you know the HDD is good, pound the F1-F12 keys durning start up and you'll get to your bios so you can change the boot order.

The BIOS on my old motherboard was Delete, not an F-key.  But is usually F2, with F12 being just boot order.
