I'm a bit of a pessimist, but I'm beginning to see that realism probably exists more than anything. The ''good'' and the ''bad''. I guess it's true what they said on Vanilla Sky about the ''sweet'' never being ''sweet'' without the ''sour''.

Here's some examples of what I mean:

1) Once again confrontation got the better of some people and there was another argument in my French lesson on Friday.  Afterwards, one of the girls on my course (one of the nice ones, and not the three who I am being bullied by) suggested we go back to hers and have hot chocolate and something to eat.  An example of something good coming out of something bad.

2) It was nice, and it's strange, because all this bullying has brought me closer to the other nice people in the class, who I didn't spend much time with as I was spending time with now nasty girls.   An example of something good coming out of something bad.

3) My french lecturer has also started doing this thing where she'll say something and kind of touch my shoulder or my arm. It was weird at first, but I think it's just to provide some reassurance of some kind.   An example of something good coming out of something bad.

4) My flat Vicky and I have had our ups and downs. I've gone from liking her to disliking her in a matter of moments. It all began when people said something about her, and I foolishly believed them. In the end, I asked her about it, and we both realised that we were being played.   An example of something good coming out of something bad.

5) My last example comes from today's events. I told Vicky some personal stuff, and was afraid she might judge me. It just feels like we've been brought closer, as now she's happy that I can trust her.Another example of something good coming out of something bad.

So, I guess something good comes out of something bad, and that's better support from people.   I'm in a surprisingly good mood tonight.

I think it's so important to reflect back on that sort of stuff. I've been learning a lot about appreciating the good, small as it can be, coming out of a bad situation. It can be so good for you to do that and make the day that little bit more bearable.
