i have a canon digital rebel xti with the 18-55mm lens
anyone have any neat hints / tips that can inhance some pictures or things they figured out that works best.

I can tell you a technic. Close your eyes, and take pictures, turn yourself around and walk places with your eyes closed taking pictures, you can get some neat shots.
