I am not going to a doctor, because I do not want medicine described to me.

I'm depressed, but I am not irrational or suicidal. Besides being depressed, obviously, I am in a rational state of mind.

I just feel sad/angry all the time.

How can I get undepressed, without medicine? Has anyone here ever done it?

Drinking plenty of water, getting lots of sleep, staying active, reducing stress and having a balanced diet will affect your emotions.

Depression rarely goes away permenantly without outside, professional help.
I got a psychiatrist through my school nurse and shes great. Really helps me think things through rationally, and my teachers know some stuff about it so they go easy on me and do fun lessons if i come in looking sad.

You could try herbal stuff.

Or, my suggestion would be to force yourself to get away from the house and actually do stuff. It'll keep your mind off of your depression.

Like I said, I'm not, for the most part, being irrational.

As a person, I am meticulously aware of myself anyway. I know that I am depressed, I know why, and I have noticed all the behavior changes that have followed.

What has depressed me will probably not change anytime soon, so I need to know how to not be depressed in such a dismal situation.

I wasnt implying that i always fly off into a rage lol. Im normally perfectly clear headed.

The lethargicness and lack of motivation combined with very little sleep is what gets to me the most, and whilst exercise and good diet will help, there really isnt anything else to do besides seek help.
Why dont you want to see a doctor?

Because I don't feel I need to.
