It is easier. Plus even eating healthy may make them feel uneasy. They become so self conscious of what they eat that it no longer applies to them that working out and eating healthy can work. Usually though they do both at the same time.

People who are anorexic do over exercising. Anything in excessive amount is bad. Eventually just exercising isn't enough for them because the results aren't fast enough.
