It's also a pretty common misconception that people who talk about suicide won't actually do it (when most of them, IDR the statistic, actually do.)

People might just not know how to react, or they have misconceptions about suicide and don't really get what you're trying to say. Don't take it personally and often it's misunderstanding that keeps people from helping. It doesn't have to mean that they don't care.
