If the United States were to lose this war in the Middle East things would be worse off for the people there than they were before. Afghanistan before the United States suffered a crippling invasion from Russia. I myself think the United States has crippled the Afghanistan Country and now they have an obilgation to give back to them.

It would be selfish if the United States were to leave without creating a Stable country. Which regardless to what some may say there is not a stable type of system in Iraq or Afghanistan. Well its getting better but its not stable.

We saw what happened after the Soviet Invasion and how worst of they were when the Russians left them behind. It will be worse for everyone in the world if this happens again.

The thing we really need to do is stop this war from expanding. If this war expands we will be in a very bad situation.

The United States can win by helping stalbalise the country. Helping fair elections happen.

Mainly I mean everything is lost if they decide to leave and forget everything that happened.

But when the Soviets left everything was out of control and religous funamentalists gained power.

This is why the United States cannot leave yet.

The best way I've heard it put:

If we pull out now, democracy in the Middle East will collapse
If we pull out 10 years from now, democracy in the Middle East will collapse

Nothing to do with the US allying themselves with said religious fanatics and helping them rise to power, was it?

You're right, the US does owe it to the country.
