In response to this topic I would argue that quite a lot of people who DO believe in god don't know much of the bible either.

I think for most religious people, as religion is enforced on them from birth it is more popular and more about social acceptance to follow a religion rather than belief.

Thats just me though.

What about the people who've been brought up on religious foundations, therefore know a lot about it.. But then choose to be athiest / agnostic later on in life ? You can't just presume that all athiests don't know what they're talking about.

I agree,
If I had been taught it from birth I wouldn't know any different and would most probably believe it
But I wasn't I was left to decide on things for myself
I also wasn't told religion was wrong, so its a completely self formed opinion

Im not making asumptions about anyone here, im just counter arguing a point.

I don't think people HAVE to be well informed to make a decision about religion simply because there simply ISN'T a way anyone can be well informed. It's a belief structure, nothing more.. thats all it is!

I just se religious people as people who are willing to blindly obey or believe in something they can't ever prove - and there is nothing wrong with that!

for me, this lyric says it all

"I believe in the sun even when it's not shining
I believe in love even when I don't feel it
And I believe in God even when He is silent"

Its all true. Ive been catholic for like 16 years [my whole life lol] but I just started getting MORE interested in it as I got older. I started to realize how much sense it made. I mean rght now, all the experiments that scientist have done is destryoing the planet a bit [maybe thats too drastic to say] but my pont is: WHO made scientists?! whomade US!? I'd rather beliee in God than nothing at all. or say
Qoute-"I believe in something I just dot know what"

I don't think god and science are two sides of a coin.. science is a human creation and it is certainly not evil..

I respect you for your belief and your choice to believe but I would be interested to know, do you think any less of science?

I haven't been raised with religion enforced on me. I don't know much of the Bible, no, but I am not a Christian so I don't see why that matters.

Evolution. It's not so much who made us than what happened. It's on youtube, a very cohesive explanation.

I love word games.... So, Kristina, are you saying that you chose to believe in God because you require some sort of foundation to base your life on?

Kind of. Let's just wait until they start actually colliding particles in the LHC.

I honestly do not like some of the stuff science has been able to create. Idk if you watched this show on Discovery Channel 2 nights ago, but they're launching a 3 BILLION dollar experiement taht HAS A Qoute "veryyyy liiitttlee chance of destroying the planet by creating a smalll black whole that can grow"

its a tube thingy {huugge!} that is going to have alot of magnitutude or wtv. its confusing but research it.

its launching next year and they're not going to just launch it once, oh no multiple times a day.

I honestly think scientists are STUPID AND CRUEL for wasting soooo much money on a stupid experiement rather than helping humanity live better by giving food and shelter to those who are in need!
