Are/will any of you change your area of study to something more in demand and stable for a bad economy?...to make yourselves more employable or more likely to be kept on staff?

Yup. I dropped out.  Now economics class goes for 16 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Ill probably add in more classes to make me more versatile. For instance, rather than just going for a computer science degree, Ill probably also take business management classes, that way Im also covered for ANY sort of business job, not just IT type of things.

I'll be going for a completely different degree, but that has nothing to do with the economy, was all about my original choice becoming outsourced to china.

i was talking to my mom when wall street crashed a few weeks back, and she basically told me I'd be fucked for a while, but there's always menial labor until we can work in the jobs we are passionate about.

Yeah. I changed my major from microbio to just bio so I could do this thing at my school called 'geaux teach'. I can become a certified teacher without majoring in education. There's even guaranteed job placement. It's killing two birds with one stone, so why not?
