It's not really a sin, just the ultimate form of dispair. You'll notice that in Greek Mythology, there are many that kill themselves and still only go to regular Hades, not Tartarus.
In my opinion, there is an afterlife and committing suicide, while not the best way to go, will still only get you there.

I don't think committing suicide is a sin. People who do it have their reason. Just because they kill them selves doesn't mean that otherwise they don't deserve to go to heaven. I think that even if someone commits suicide they still go to heaven.

I believe that someone who wants to die so badly that they kill themselves, they probably don't even believe in heaven or hell or limbo or valhalla or wherever.
