sodium carbonate reatcs with hydrochloric acid, what is formed?

is it Na2CO3 + 2HCl -> 2NaCl + HCO3 + H2
?

No, that can't be right because HCO3- is an ion.

When a carbonate reacts with a dilute acid like that it produces a salt, water and CO2.

So it makes 2NaCl + CO2 + H2O
