Considering most piercers who do it, do it incorrectly anyway, that's doubtful to be the reason most people get them.

They are a very short-term piercing, and they're meant to be.

3 months & still doing fine on the corset....2 all u ppl who think it is impossible 2 keep em,im @ the approximate halfway healing mark.if done by a dec piercer who knows what they r doing i believe they can b permanent piercings

No surface piercings are permanent. It will reject or migrate. I promise you. I have my eyebrow done, that will reject in time and I want my nape done, they themselves only really last about a year tops.

Not sure what else I could get done, I miss my vertical labret, but I'm not sure if I'd want one again, and my snakebites, but they're so overused I don't think I'd want them again either.

Corset piercings are sometimes referred to as "play piercings" because they are used in fetish type settings. They are NOT meant to be permanent, however some people keep them.

Eventually, with age, pregnancy, and other body changes, surface piercings will/must come out.
