Do you think this would be a cool feature in LW?

I think it would be nice if the OP could be granted the power to lock his or her own topic. Some people might want to lock it for no good reason, so I guess the mods could give permission to those who they think will not overuse the power of locking their own topics.

There is far too much room for abuse. Giving the mods additional powers such as this would only contribute to overloading there already heavy load.

I think we should have the option to delete our own threads or posts.

I think if anyone is granted that special privilege, than everyone should be?

I mean.. how could you abuse that power?

If you want a topic locked, you are able to get a topic trashed or locked at any time per your request (with good reason).  You can't really give it to people... it can be abused.  Especially in debate/argument topics.  If there is still discussion going sometimes we will wait.

Or you could just ask a mod to do it.  Easy enough.
