I'm taking Numerical Analysis this semester, which is mostly comprised of working in MATLAB. I can't afford to buy the program though, so I need some assistance in finding an alternative. I've used MATLAB in our computer labs, but I don't have unlimited access to such labs, so it's a huge inconvenience. But I have learned to love the MATLAB environment, namely the fact that I can have multiple windows for different functions (editor, command line, et cetera). I just grabbed Octave, but apparently that only has the command line, and not a separate editor that lets me fiddle with my code.

If anyone knows of a program, please let me know ASAP.
