is pretty dumb if you ask me and is just a way for longstanding members who fucked up one too many times to just come back to the site without other members bitching and moaning about how negative0 some random member who's been on lw forever got banned
wat exactly was the logic behind it? to stop having to deal with random members compalining about old members?

They love being able to ban people whenever they want for stupid reasons now.
Like when I got banned for telling one person who happened to be a mod about the other forum I visit and was playing a Mafia game on.
It was completely idiotic and one of the people who voted for me to be banned was iwashere85, as well as the brand new mod Furry Panther who I'd sent it too.

i see it as the opposite of banning whoever they want. the rules have been changed to make allowances for specifically popular and long-time members (who for the most part make no effort at support).

i would disagree. i've gotten a lot of support through seeing how bad other people's problems are compared to mine. additionally, i make what i see as "long-term" supportive posts, more typically known as tough love. i don't think that babying people helps make them stronger.

And on that note I really wish someone would enter Bearsy Bitch's replies in my contest.
It came about after a pretty healthy debate. We realized that some members were being pardoned, while others were being denied pardons on the same/similar grounds.
Vocal mods argued the drastic ends of each side. I was more towards the drastic end of we should more quickly reach a point of no return (perma ban). In the end, we all met in the middle so to speak, and thus four months became the magic number.

It's a harsh world out there and there will be a lot of trolls and other people who will never be banned and if you always let them get you down, then that's it you'll fail. you're going to fail, like the faggot you are
but if you stand up for yourself and face them instead of bitching and complaining you'll learn to take advantage of the situation and take control of your life. So get up and face them.
