Last week on Monday, my Discrete Math Prof was pissed. The class's average on the quiz we'd taken the previous week was around a 64% and she was not happy.

"When I teach this stuff, you're supposed to learn it."

No shit, right?

She seems to think we're just lazy when we're actually rather confused. One day, she goes so fast we can't keep up, the next, she goes slowly enough that we can actually grasp the material. Week one, she was telling us about how she would never give us a lot of homework because she didn't want to bog us down, week four she's giving us 70+ problems and refusing to clarify what's due and what's not and then basically yelling at us because kids were emailing her asking for clarification. Even just figuring out what's on the quiz and what isn't is hard.

I just got my third quiz grade back...77/100...fuck. The class, as a whole, did even worse. 56.23%.

She's going to be pissed come Monday. I can just hear her now..."This is all your fault, you're not paying attention, yada yada yada..." She's nuts. Mind you, we did better on our first exam and probably will on our second, as well. It's like...she goes so fast and is so nuts with homework that we're doomed to bomb our quizzes. We then use them to determine what will be on the exam and what she failed to teach us in class.

I asked my advisor about what's going on because I think her behavior is highly unprofessional (refusing to return emails asking for homework clarification, embarrassing one of her best students in the hallway outside of class, whispering to her Sign Language Interpretor that she dislikes "these two students", etc.) and she said that we could always challenge our grades because it's not right that we don't know what we're being tested on but I don't think anyone will do it. We're on a quarter system so we hardly have time, it's just too much. We're just stuck, basically.

How is everyone else faring with their Profs/classes?
