And no, this is not an opinion topic, so please refrain from posting "macs are stupid" comments, alright?  I HAD to have a mac, so there is nothing I can do about it.  I have a mac and that's that.

OKAY!  So, I got the Windows installed, but the people at the icare corner left a note on my computer saying that in order to use Windows I have to completely switch over to the Windows partition.  But I was both told by others with Windows on mac and read that you can run Windows better with the Mac partition up.

So what do I do?  Open the Windows operating system at restart, or open the Mac operating system and run Windows through that?

Do what they told you to do so if it gets fucked up you can tell them that you did what they said but it didn't work. Then they'll have to fix it because it was their fault, and they won't get all, "then why didn't you do what we told you to do?".

I think perhaps you're misunderstanding what they're telling you, or perhaps I'm misunderstanding what you're saying, but here's two ways you can get Windows running on your Intel-based Mac:

1) BootCamp - partition your hard drive and restart your computer to switch between operating systems. You get superior performance from Windows when you do this, but you'll have a tough time sharing files between Mac OS and Windows, and you'll have to wait to restart to switch between the two.

2) Virtualization - You can use either Parallels Desktop or VMWare Fusion to "virtually" run Windows within Mac OS. This is a "seamless" integration where you can easily share files between your two different operating systems. Here, Mac OS will be the only OS running, and Windows being emulated, meaning you won't get 100% performance in Windows. However, you can instantly switch between the two OS's or run them side by side.

I would recommend taking option one. You have both operating systems on your computer, and you can maximum performance from both of them.
