I was just wondering how many of you use links in your responses (to e-helps, serious forum replies, or just normal posts).  I have never used a link, at least not that I remember, but I see quite a few members do.

I'm just curious, do you use links as well?

If I read an article, and feel that it pertains then I will link it.  I don't put one in EVERY one.

Sometimes.  If I think that there is information in whatever I'm linking too that I couldn't give myself then I will.  Otherwise, I see no point in linking to things I could explain myself.

agreed.

I especially tend to use links in "school" questions and in "health/medical" questions.

Ah!  I have used a link :).  I think I've done it once or twice for something medical related, lol.  I had forgotten about that :)

I have a couple good links for help with eating disorders and a couple of links for building self-esteem, so I generally just use them in those types of questions. Though I will occasionally link someone in a health question.

I have used links before. I don't do it to often. Mostly with self-harm issues, building up confidence and things like that.

It really depends.  I have compiled a list of sources that can be referred to for many different topics.  For example, I have a few links for people who may be suicidal and I also have a couple of links that are geared towards helping people re-build their self-esteem.  Usually, I find it very effective if I add a couple of links into an eHelp that I'm replying to because it gives the individual another source (s) to refer to.  Therefore, not only is the information now unbiased but also a lot more helpful as outside sources tend to go into greater detail.

I like to for many reasons whether it's because I've actually gone and look for that information to back up what I am saying of if it's to tell them that there are places they can look for further help.
