So like i know your not meant to have two anti virus programs cos they clash thing..

but is there a way to like say i have Avast installed as well.. but so its completly disabled so i can just use it as a scanner thing


if that makes sense..


does anyone know how?


and ill prob like to know if you can do that to AVG as well.

You can install, will just have to disable it from starting at startup.

This is best done not connected to the internet because it involves disabling one of your AV programs temporarily.  

1.  Download Second program
2.  Close out of the program you currently have running
3.  Install Avast (or whatever new one is)
4.  Stop Avast from booting up with Windows
-Hold WinLogo button on keyboard and tap r
-type in "msconfig" without the quotes
-go over to the startup tab and disable from starting
5.  Reboot and your old program should come up, and Avast (or whatever) will be installed but not running in the background.
