I believe so because you are going around un nourished and your body wont be able to thrive for long. You wont be able to do anything bacause u wont have energy.
I would imagine that headaches play into it as well.
This is just my understanding about the disease.

Well yeah, you are not going to be getting the nutrients that your body needs. You are pretty much denying your body of food. Which in turn is going to make you feel icky and tired all the time. Food gives you energy. Lack of food, lack of energy.
