I know that railguns and coilguns both work on a principle of acceleration through electricity or coils. However, seeing as the current technology is only using metal projectiles for their prototypes, do you think it's a reasonable assumption that they'd advance to over-charging a battery-like principle in a bullet that upon impact releases an electro magnetic pulse, simulair to what nuclear weapons have as an unexpected side-effect?
I don't know.. I just thought that it's very well possible..

Yes that's quite possible and it'd be an awesome weapon, shoot a tank or something and fry the electronics in it.
