I find it annoying that I hear people at school, on here and in public saying stuff like " retard" , "nigg*r, "faggot" you know i hear black people say the n word as well and I think its stupid. If you cant say anything that doesnt put down groups of people then dont say at all. The only thing it shows is ignorance. and honestly people that were not prejudiced probably would not say those words to begin with.

Apparently, when black people use "nigger" or "nigga" for each other, it's a term of endearment. If that's what they want, then whatever, but don't be surprised when someone of a different race calls you it. Stupid, disgusting words that really no one should have any business saying as it's in the hands of the people who actually hurt for their chance at equality, rather than perpetuating stereotypes and what not.

Same can go for the other words, but it is more prevalent with the N word.

There really isn't as much history behind the word cracker as there is "nigger". Cracker is not only a stupid word, but it supposedly derives from the white people being the whip crackers, so it's not really the same but I know what you mean, and I agree to an extent which is why the whole thing is useless for people to argue about.

agreed.

But i think that in the end they are all just words, and people should realise that.
"go to hell" has become "fuck off" because "hell" lost its meaning when it was said so much.

The words only mean as much as you let them, and the bigger the aura around them, the worse you allow them to become. If people accept them, they become integrated with normal conversation, lose their meaning and either evolve or are just forgotten.
