Okay,

I don't know what I got myself into, but I got it there. Anyway, I bought two sticks of 1GB RAM for my Dell Inspirion 6000. I ordered it from crucial.com and it says that its compatible and all that jazz.

I just have a few questions that I cannot seem to find on a simply Google or Yahoo search.

1) Do I have to ground myself? If so, with what? I didn't think to order a wriststrap for this purpose so I have to use something else.

2) Is the RAM slots on the bottom of the 6000 model or is it one on the bottom and the second slot under the keyboard?

Finally, when I do get the RAM installed will it automatically recognize the new memory?

Oh, okay. Good. I almost had a heartattack when I read that. But I did know you had to have it off and to make sure that its not plugged it and that the battery is out of it before installing.
