Excellent question, please allow me to answer it for you in a non Biblical way rather a logical way.

Because it fits the definition (if you happened to be a religious person then I should have used this vocab sanctity) of marriage as a man and a woman which is legal for them to get marry as long as it is between a man and a woman no matter what religion they are even if they are atheist.
