It's not good for health.

Actually not true. It has been proven that marijuana is not linked to any form of cancer, in fact it has been sown to shrink cancer cells. Also it helps prevent Alzheimer's along with several other diseases.

But it's an addiction, isn't it?

Marijuana? No. Well at least not physically. But yes people can become mentally addicted to it. But on the same note a person can become mentally addicted to anything that is pleasurable for them.

someone at one of his meeting asked him "do you think i should be arrested for smoking marijuana?"

and he said no he think it should be taxed and laws should changed.

Actually, for someone who loves to smoke, it is better for marijuana to be illegal...if they like their money.

Depends on if they legalize with no restrictions. Then we could just grow our own.

I highly doubt this would be the case. I think what Obama is trying to do is for medical-use. It would be very difficult for him to legalize marijuana entirely since most Americans are still trapped in the wrong state-of-mind.

True but we are progressing farther along each day.

But even if the price would go up it would be worth it to me to be able to smoke without fear of a over bearing government.

probably not but if he does a good job and the democrats continue to gain dominance and eliminate the more conservative party (GOP) it could very well result in most elements of the war on drugs becoming obsolete. the dea could end up losing most if not all of its funding some day and cease to do operations. just give it maybe 15-20 years. patience my friends. it would likely be up to states whether they want to prosecute / fine / or totally legalize drug use. but just give it time.. and let's hope the blues dont fuckup and get the neo-cons back in power because if so they will never consider letting go of the war on drugs. bush admin has made sure the war on drugs will go as far as they could have pushed it.

Since when has that had anything to do with this? If they did drug laws based on health, weed, lsd, shrooms, and mdma would be legal and alcohol and tobacco would be illegal.

On topic, I doubt he will. The states will slowly legalize medical marijuana then we may see legalization or at least de-criminalization  in most states. Hopefully he may decide to at least de-criminalize it because it is not a crime to begin with.

I think I read somewhere that he will keep the federal government out of the state's decisions for the law on medical marijuana. So in the states that have legalized medical marijuana, you no longer will get busted by the federal government. I haven't read any of his views on legalization as a whole, but that's what it said for medical marijuana. I also think I read that he "will let the states decide whether or not they want to legalize medical marijuana or not."

I understand where you're coming from, but a good smoker never gets caught

Sucks they still have so many conservative people out there, where's the cool people at?
